The 3rd and final ODI match scheduled to be played, as part of the ICC Women’s Championship, will take place at the Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur on The 22nd of October 2018. Australia women’s team won the 1st two matches comprehensively and they are poised to win the 3rd and final ODI as well. Our prediction is another win for the girls from Australia in this ODI match.

The Results so far

The 1st match of the series resulted in a 5-wicket win for the girls from Australia. Pakistan batted first but were restricted to just 94 runs in their 20 overs. Captain Javeria Khan top-scored with a fighting 21 runs. It was never going to be enough against the strong Australian lineup. Alyssa Healy and Louise Haynes scored 26 and 24 respectively to power Australia to victory before the rains set in. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the 2nd match. They went on a run spree win captain Meg Lanning stroking a 106 ball 124 with 19 hits to the ropes. Louise Haynes contributed in this match as well by scoring 79 runs in 82 deliveries. The innings was laced with 9 boundaries and the only six of the match.

Pakistan faired slightly better with the bat on the face of a 274 run target. Opening batswoman Nahida Khan top scored with 66 before she was 9th out with the total on 123. Pakistan, in fact, lost 5 wickets for just 2 runs to slip from 121 for 5 to 123 all out to give victory to Australia by 150 runs. Mega Shutt and Ashleigh Gardner captured 3 wickets apiece in the 1st match while Sophie Molineux captured 4 for 14 in the 2nd. Schutt and Gardner were again amongst the wickets capturing 2 wickets apiece in the 2nd.

How can Pakistan women compete?

Pakistan needs their batting unit to fire. It is simple as that. The opening pair of Nahida Khan and Ayesha Zafar should look to put on a good partnership and allow the likes of captain Javeria, Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen build upon it. Ameen has not been able to get the ball away off the square and labored for 25 deliveries scoring just 4 runs in the 2nd match. She will need to get a move on and support Sana Mir and Nida Dar in their endeavors to push the scoring along in the middle and death overs. The fast bowlers Diana Baig, and Anam Amin who fared so well against Bangladesh have bowled with control. However, they have not been able to run through the Aussie lineup as they did with Bangladesh. The experienced Sana Mir, Nida Dar, and Javeria Khan will need to contribute with the ball. Nashra Sandhu who captured 3 wickets in the last match is the key bowler with her slow left-arm spin.

The strategy for Australia

The Aussies just need to continue what they have been doing so far. We don’t see them chopping and changing their side and expect them to go for the kill. The betting prediction suggests that they will continue to open the batting with Healy and Nicole Bolton with Lanning, Ellyse Perry, and Haynes patrolling the middle order. The top-order is quite imposing and we expect them to score big once more. Perry and Schutt will open the bowling with Georgia Wareham as the 3rd seam bowling option. Sophie Molineux and Ashley Gardner will be the key wicket-taking options along with Schutt. We don’t see the Pakistani batswomen faring any better against these world-class bowlers.

Our Cricket Betting Prediction

Our prediction is simple and straightforward. Australia women’s team will defeat Pakistan women’s team to take out the series. We expect them to consolidate their position at the top of the ICC Women’s Championship table by moving up to 16 points.
